It's that time of the year again.. the end of one, and the start of a new one. To name a few things we could enjoy in 2012: The Woman in Black, the BAFTA awards, Dan at the White House correspondents dinner, the Met gala and Dan's debute in a music clip + Daniel joining social media with Google+ (finally) For Dan it was a year with quite some work, which also means we have quite some projects to enjoy next year: The F Word, Kill Your Darlings, Horns & The Cripple of Inishmaan, are all coming up.

To all Potter fans! CD Miller has provided me the news that the collection of the Harry Potter Places Travel Guidebooks is completed (5 books in total). I did already publish a review of book one earlier this year.

Whether simply dreaming of a Potterverse journey, or actually preparing for one, Potterites will thoroughly enjoy the Harry Potter Places travel guidebooks. If you are interested and want to buy one or more books (ebook, PDF, or paperback), or you just want more info visit harrypotterplaces.com.
After four years of research, CD Miller and a host of helpful Harry Potter fans managed to find sixty-eight (68) Harry Potter places in the United Kingdom of Great Britain, and one in Bjorli, Norway. We’ll lead you to every real-life location described in JK Rowling’s books, the places where filming occurred, and several sites that inspired the set designs seen on screen.

A Young Doctor's Notebook: Episode guide
Below you find the episode guide of the upcoming Sky Arts drama A Young Doctor's Notebook.
Warning: spoilers
Episode 1
Thursday 6 December 2012, 9pm
Based on Mikhail Bulgakov’s collection of short stories, A Country Doctor’s Notebook, the series follows a recently-graduated young medic (Radcliffe) who is forced to say farewell to life in bustling Moscow to take up a post as a doctor in a small, remote hospital a thousand miles from the capital, and half a day’s journey from the nearest shop.
Hamm plays the young doctor 17 years on, who finds his old diary while answering to the authorities about self-prescribing morphine. He has a series of comic exchanges with his young and inexperienced self, mocking him for his youthful looks and guiding him through his early difficulties on the job.

Exclusive: Daniel Radcliffe has joined social media: Google+
![]() |
Josh Horowitz from MTV News just posted the news online that Daniel Radcliffe has joined social media, but not with Facebook or Twitter. Some of you (well I did) may have noticed the verified Google+ account already some weeks ago.
"This has mainly come about because of the amount of people that I meet who tell me that they have contacted me on Twitter or Facebook when I know that's impossible — because I don't belong to either one of those sites," Radcliffe told MTV News about joining Google+. "Now that I have this page, there will be an outlet for accurate information and hopefully people will not waste their time giving credence to people pretending to be me."Are you active on Google+ and ready to follow Daniel (or you do already)? You can also follow Daniel J Radcliffe Holland while I still try to figure out how everything works...
So, Radcliffe hopes his frequently-updated Google+ page will keep imposters out and the facts straight regarding his professional life. "It will be active," he said, "but with updates about things I'm working on or have worked on, including things I'm passionate about, like The Trevor Project. What it won't be is the minutia of my daily life, like what's on the craft services table."
So while Radcliffe's Google+ won't let you know whether or not he picked macaroni and cheese for lunch on the "Horns" set, it will still provide insight into his craft and career goals. But with more and more inside details on one of today's hottest actors readying their way onto the web, it would be completely understandable if Radcliffe is feeling some trepidation over his official online debut.
"Trepidation sums it up very well," he agreed. "It's a sense of not knowing what to expect, as opposed to any actual worries."
Unseen photos etc. will also be shared on this site. Check the label Google+.

Another wish which came true with help from the Make-A-Wish Foundation BC & Yukon. Katrina from Barrie, Ontario visited Daniel on the set of his upcoming movie Horns, she posted this picture online.
A Note: 18th November is probably not the the exact date when the picture got taken, it's not featured at her Tumblr.
Update: 15th November 2013. Another photo was uploaded by Katrina, also one here.
Katrina has always been a big fan of the Harry Potter collection and her wish was to learn more about Daniel, his film ‘The Woman in Black’ and what it was like to spend time on a movie set. Daniel graciously welcomed all to his make-up trailer to share photos, what it is like living with the challenges of a medical condition and the love of all things horror. Presented with a Make-A-Wish scarf, Daniel playfully mistook the scarf for his favorite football club – The Tottenham Hotspurs because of the team colors blue and white. What an exciting wish day for Katrina - thanks Daniel! Special thanks also to bridgestudios.com/ and fairmont.com/pacific-rim-vancouver

Daniel Radcliffe signs caps for Caps For Kids
Curtis Akey has posted on Twitter that he has received caps from Daniel Radcliffe for Caps for Kids. You can view his photo below.
What's their mission:
To provide every child that is diagnosed and undergoing treatment for cancer or receiving chemotherapy to treat other life threatening illnesses a cap autographed by the celebrity of their choice.
To a child who has lost their hair due to the chemotherapy treatments, the caps help them establish a special bond with their caregiver/physician and their celebrity hero. We have found that many of the children garner strength from the autographed caps, and they feel as though their celebrity hero is right there with them fighting the battle against their illness.
So unbelievably thrilled to get caps 2day at the @capsforkids office from THE Daniel Radcliffe! Thanks Daniel!!! twitter.com/CapMan4Cancer/…

Horns: Exclusive first look: Daniel Radcliffe as Ig Perrish (with horns)
Official first look at Daniel Radcliffe as Ignatius (Ig) Perrish in the fantasy/thriller Horns. This promotional photo is posted online by Entertainment Weekly.
Radcliffe describes his new role [in Horns] as “deeply emotional and also incredibly outrageous in some ways.” How outrageous? Well, let’s just say the 11-year-old Daniel Radcliffe we met in Harry Potter is nowhere to be found. In his place, we have Ig, who is accused of the violent rape and murder of his girlfriend before waking up and to find horns that come with a wildly tempting power trip — he can induce people to tell the truth or compel them to give into their ugliest inner urges. Says Radcliffe, “To play somebody who, in the midst of a time in his life of great turmoil anyway, undergoes this horrific transformation into a devil character — it was very, very exciting.”

Jack Huston: "KYD let's Daniel Radcliffe do what he's capable of doing"
Jack Huston talked with MTV news about Kill Your Darlings at the premiere of HBO's "Boardwalk Empire," and Jack called Daniel "the real deal."
"I've never seen [anything like] the way he works, such tenacity," Huston said. "He's got a hunger for the craft. It was one of the loveliest experiences."
Huston said that he understands the pressure Radcliffe faces moving forward in his career, but he thinks that people will be surprised when "Kill Your Darlings" comes out next year. "I think people are going to be shocked about how good he is," Huston said. "He's really coming into himself. It's very hard getting out of the shadow of something like 'Harry Potter' because... it's as big as it gets in the film world. I think he really wants to be considered the actor he's capable of actually becoming. I'm happy that I got to work with him and actually see him do what he's capable of doing."

The Advocate magazine interview (US)
Interview by The Advocate magazine in which Daniel talks about his return to the supernatural genre in The Woman in Black (DVD and Blu-ray release), what drew him to play Allen Ginsberg (Kill Your Darlings), and why he’s committed to The Trevor Project.
The Advocate: The Woman in Blackis the first film you made since the Potter franchise ended. Did you have any hesitation about making another movie within the horror-fantasy genre?
Daniel Radcliffe: I said to myself, if I rule out any script that had remotely any fantasy element, I’d be cutting myself off from a huge amount of amazing work. If you’re talking about films made years ago, it would exclude me from films like The Shining or A Matter of Life and Death or who knows what else. There are so many films that could be deemed as having heightened paranormal elements to them, which could just be magical realism or a ghost story, which isn’t really the same feeling as Potter. I decided not to let that impinge on my decision-making.

Daniel Radcliffe Notes: MSN Movies
Daniel Radcliffe talked to MSN about his favorite quintet of scary movies and also
about the chilling The Woman in Black.
Axe to grind
The film: "The Shining" (1980)
The plot: Jack Torrance (Jack Nicholson) brings along his wife, Wendy (Shelley Duvall), and telepathic young son Danny to take care of a massive Colorado hotel that is sealed up for the winter. The resident spooks terrorize Danny and take hold of Jack's mind, encouraging him to pull a Lizzy Borden on his family.
Radcliffe's notes: "'The Shining' is one of my favorite movies. It's the best example of absolutely being forced inside the head of somebody going crazy. There's really nothing scarier than feeling like you're inside the mind of a dangerous person. There's something really terrifying and claustrophobic about that."
Stay away from the light
The film: "The Others" (2001)
The plot: Nicole Kidman and her light-sensitive children shutter up with their servants in a big old house as they await her husband's return from war. Then they are besieged by unseen specters.
Radcliffe's notes: "'The Others' was a big film for us when we made this movie. It was something that we all kind of felt tonally and in the atmosphere that we aspired to. It's a beautiful, sad, very scary, atmospheric film. I watched it a couple of years ago before we did 'Woman in Black,' and I loved Nicole Kidman in it.

Three things that scare Daniel Radcliffe
Maxim magazine had the chance to sit down with Daniel and to ask him a couple of things including what scares him.
The Woman Behind the Woman in Black
I was very lucky in this film because on Potter I would generally have been working with digital effects instead of having somebody there to act with. I would generally have a ball on a stick or something. Not an actor. Whereas on this film, Liz White, who played the woman in black, was there on set in costume and make-up most days, so it was great. It certainly makes it a lot easier when you’re working with an actor who’s actually there to scare you and terrify you and play a scene with.
Jason and the Argonauts
The first movie I remember being terrified by was Jason and the Argonauts, which is one of my favorite films ever anyway. But there is one sequence in it where these skeletons come to life and come out of the ground and start to battle with Jason and the Argonauts and it’s terrifying. And it still is. It’s the old Harryhausen stop motion effects and it’s brilliantly done, brilliantly animated.

"I have been an obsessive Bulgakov reader for a couple of years now so when the opportunity to become involved in this project came up, I could barely contain my excitement. The book is funny, grotesque and heartfelt in equal measure and I look forward to working with a great group of people to help bring it to life."If more news comes available, you will hear it here.
