Updated: Helen McCrory has died aged 52

Actress Helen McCrory, known as Narcissa Malfoy in Harry Potter, has died at the age of 52. Her husband Damian Lewis confirmed the news on Twitter. He explained that she died following ‘an heroic battle with cancer’.

Daniel was among the first to pay tribute. A journalist for Metro.co.uk shared Daniel's statement released by his publicist on Twitter.

Update: 17th April 2021. The statement is now also online on his official website.

"I truly couldn't believe this news when I heard it. Helen was one of the most incredible actors I got to work with on the Harry Potter films. She was effortlessly commanding and captivating as an actor, as well as being kind, generous, and incredibly good fun as a person. Also, as it happens,  she's one of the absolute coolest people I've ever met, in that I can't ever imagine her being flustered or nervous, she always seemed totally assured of who she was and what she was doing.  She was a supreme talent and a wonderful person and will be very greatly missed."

-Dan
Back in 2011 Helen called Daniel the "ambassador" of the Harry Potter series (Parade magazine).
"It's sad that it's coming to an end. I enjoyed it so much. I felt very welcomed as soon as I came on set by the crew and the cast alike - particularly by Daniel Radcliffe. You feel he's the ambassador to the embassy that you're joining. He really welcomes you on and introduces you to everybody and is a real gentleman,"

Life-size Harry Potter statue

I saw this online and thought it's impressive enough to share. A life-size statue of Daniel as Harry Potter with silicone head (1.68cm and 1.87cm with base). It's an official licensed Warner Bros. Wizarding World product and is sold for € 2.844,10. Well that is where I found it which is at Muckle Mannequins' website.

The head is a limited edition option and is different than the head on their original figure. Also available are Voldemort and Dobby the house elf.

Description:

With the Harry Potter silicone head. High-end, made of high-quality silicone - amazingly real and unique in the world. With individually hand-inserted whiskers, eyebrows and scalp hair as well as expressive acrylic eyes that give the face a perfect expression. The lifelike high-end head in limited edition is the highlight of your Muckle Mannequins Harry Potter figure. Daniel Radcliffe, as a 1: 1 model, in his final role in the last part of the Harry Potter saga. The hair, disheveled from the battle, and the specially tuned makeup of the head undoubtedly show the exertions before Harry's great triumph.

(K)nox: The Rob Knox Story documentary

(K)nox: The Rob Knox Story is a documentary exploring the life and legacy of the Harry Potter actor, Rob Knox as well as highlighting the state of knife crime in the UK. Rob was murdered in a knife attack in 2008. Daniel paid tribute to him in 2009.

It's produced by his father Colin Knox (Rob Knox Foundation) and Q Cumber Films and will be screening online on the London Independent Film Festival website from 9th-18th April. Featured in the documentary film are Rob's family and friends, as well as Tom Felton, Jim Broadbent and David Yates. For tickets and more info visit liff.org.

Daniel didn't know Rob very well, but offered his support to the Foundation and this documentary. As with most members of the production, he spoke kindly of Rob during press junkets and interviews to promote the Half Blood Prince in 2009.

In 2009 Daniel said that his death had affected all the cast:
"I won't pretend I knew him incredibly well, or was his best friend on set, but I knew him and liked him, and what happened to him was obviously tragic and awful."

Back then the cast and crew wore white ribbons on their wrists at the Half-Blood Prince world premiere in Leicester Square in tribute to Rob.

Harry Potter Throwback

Throwback Thursday! A Hary Potter and the Order of the Phoenix still.

Back in 2016 Popsugar noticed a hidden joke on this still image that is interesting to mention. The headline on the newspaper: "Balls Judged 'Too Big'". You don't get a good look at it in the film.
