25 years of Harry Potter poster
This year Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone turns 25. Warner Bros. Discovery has announced celebrations throughout 2026. The film is coming back to the big screen worldwide, including 10 minutes of behind-the-scenes content. This will be between 27th August and 3rd September -timings vary by location-. Daniel's 2001 appearance on The Today Show while promoting Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. He explains how he got discovered because of his performance as David in David Copperfield, what he thinks is great about the Harry Potter books and more.
David Di Donatello Awards (2002)
Daniel won the Targa d'Oro Gold Plate at Italy's David Di Donatello Awards in 2002
for his superb portrayal of Harry and for his contribution to the future
of cinema. Footage of him accepting the award on the set of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets in Oxford has been published online yesterday on TikTok. Someone also shared it on YouTube so I added that video below.

The Boy Who Lived by David Holmes: Daniel's message
Daniel's Harry Potter stunt double David Holmes shared the following video message from Daniel on his instagram in promotion of his memoir called The Boy Who Lived which is available now. He mentions that there are things in the book that they haven't added in the documentary, which has the same name.

Op Facebook is een "behind the scenes" clip gedeeld met Daniel die praat over de scene met Aragog de mechanische spin op de set.
Maggie Smith has died aged 89
Maggie Smith, well known for her role as Professor McGonagall in Harry Potter, has died. She also had a role together with Daniel in the BBC series David Copperfield. She was the one who after Davis Copperfield in 1999 recommended him for the role as Harry. She died peacefully at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London her sons confirmed in a statement to the BBC.
Daniel has paid tribute to the actress (source: variety).
"The first time I met Maggie Smith I was 9 years old and we were reading through scenes for David Copperfield, which was my first job. I knew virtually nothing about her other than that my parents were awestruck at the fact that I would be working with her. The other thing I knew about her was that she was a Dame, so the first thing I asked her when we met was “would you like me to call you Dame?” at which she laughed and said something to the effect of 'don’t be ridiculous'!. I remember feeling nervous to meet her and then her putting me immediately at ease. She was incredibly kind to me on that shoot, and then I was lucky enough to go on working with her for another 10 years on the Harry Potter films.

Updated: The Boy Who Lived by David Holmes
Hodder & Stoughton will release the memoir from David Holmes who was Daniel Radcliffe’s stunt double. It will have the same name as the earlier released documentary, The Boy Who Lived. Written by Matt Allen and foreword by Daniel Radcliffe. It will be on sale in the UK on 14th November 2024. It will also be available as e-book and audiobook.
Holmes said: "This book will be full of triumph and tragedy, just like my life up until this point. Detailing many behind-the-scenes stories that have not been told from my time on the Potter films, as well as some of the lessons and hardships I’ve endured since breaking my neck, I’m very grateful to be alive and to be able to tell my story.”
