'Oscar' Award Christmas gift

Page Banfield from danradcliffe.co.uk has received a thank you letter from Daniel regarding a present she  did send him for Christmas. The site presented Daniel with his very first Greatest Actor & Role Model award for 2004.

Because Daniel deserves an Oscar Page contacted the Oscar organization to ask if they could make a special award trophy.  It was decided not to create a duplicate but there was a different trophy
made by R. S. Owens & Company, the company that makes the Oscar and Emmy Awards.

Dear Page,

Thank you so much to everyone at Danradcliffe.co.uk for the fantastic award which I opened on Christmas morning. I was completely surprised to receive it and was very touched by your kindness. I also thought the acceptance speech was very funny!I am having a particularly busy time at the moment - filming between Christmas and New Year and revising for important exams in January. Life is very busy but good! This is without doubt the most demanding year I have faced with filming and academic work so wish me luck! Thank you for the fantastic work Danradcliffe.co.uk does on behalf of Demelza House and thank you to everyone who contributed throughout the year to this amazing place.Page, thank you for the excellent work you continue to do on danradcliffe.co.uk. - it means a lot to me.Wherever you are in the world I hope you have a happy and peaceful New Year and to everyone who has suffered in the Tsunamis earthquake my thoughts are with you.

Best wishes,
DAN

Staff member at the Bush Theatre's annual fundraising Christmas Quiz

Variety is reporting that Daniel Radcliffe was one of the staff at the Bush Theatre's annual fundraising Christmas Quiz. He waited on tables during the event. From the article:

"As for the waitering skills of Radcliffe fils? Exemplary, though one doubts he'll need to abandon the day job any time soon."

Daniel's Christmas card

Daniel's Christmas card
Daniel is sending out a Christmas card to fans who write to him this holiday season. The photo of him and the cast under water was taken on the last day of filming of the second task for Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

Read Daniel's message (as it was send to Jenna, danradcliffe.com) below and USA Today posted the following:
"We had to share oxygen tanks and get everyone positioned very quickly," he says. "Then, with a friend, I added Christmas-type additions and felt ultimately that antlers and red noses worked best."
The underwater scenes made him a scuba fan. "I would love to try it again, but perhaps in a more exotic location than a tank at Leavesden Studios."
Radcliffe began training for the underwater scenes in November 2003 while shooting The Prisoner of Azkaban. "I have never taken direction at the bottom of a tank. It was very interesting listening to the director (Mike Newell) and then responding to him with signs and signals."

A mention of the card in a message to danradcliffe.com's Jenna back in November
Dear Jenna

As I have now responded to over 100,000 letters, I thought it appropriate that I should say ‘thank you’ to everyone who has written to me over the past two years. While it is impossible to respond on a personal level to all the questions I have been asked, I hope the newsletter keeps you up to date with certain aspects of my life. I love playing Harry Potter and I am thrilled that you enjoy the films.

As we approach Christmas, I would like to make an appeal, that this year again, instead of sending presents to me, may I suggest you make a donation to Demelza House – the Children’s Hospice I support. Last year’s appeal was extremely successful and, while I love receiving gifts from all over the world, I am afraid I no longer have enough space in my house to store the wonderful presents I have been sent over the years. A donation – however small – makes a huge difference to the children of Demelza House.

Please find enclosed the Christmas card I will be sending this year. It was taken on the last day of filming the underwater task, 20 feet down in the tank which was specially constructed at Leavesden Studios. This is one of my favourite photos, which I wanted to share with you. Every single person you see, trained, helped and guided me through this very demanding sequence. I have obviously taken a few liberties with the photo to give it a festive flavour! This card will be sent in response to all letters I receive between now and the end of December.

I hope wherever you are in the world you have a happy, fun and above all peaceful Christmas and New Year.

Best wishes,
Daniel
