Daniel has mentioned his name couple times before and has said he is his hero: one of Britain's most controversial and critically acclaimed poets, Tony Harrison. A complete collection of his poems will be published for the first time on 7th April this year. The title is Collected Poems and a quote from Daniel is featured on the cover.
'Tony Harrison is the greatest poet of the second half of the 20th century. . . He writes brilliantly about class, love and Britain' Daniel Radcliffe

Books that made a difference to Daniel Radcliffe
You have always wondered which books Daniel is reading? Oprah Winfrey's website oprah.com has published seven books that made a difference to Daniel.
The Master and Margarita
432 pages; Penguin Classics
Daniel Radcliffe has amazon.com to thank for introducing him to this satirical novel about Stalinist Russia, which Bulgakov wrote in secret from 1928 until just before his death in 1940, and which was finally published 26 years later. "I was reading Louis de Bernières's trilogy on Latin America and this book came up as something I might like, so I bought it," says Radcliffe. "It's now my favorite novel—it's just the greatest explosion of imagination, craziness, satire, humor, and heart." The fantastical work so captured Radcliffe that for his 21st birthday, he traveled to Russia to visit the author's apartment in Moscow. "There are passages that have become everyday Russian sayings. For instance, 'Manuscripts don't burn.' If it had ever come out that this book was being written, Bulgakov would likely have disappeared permanently. That phrase stands for the fact that nothing is more powerful or more indestructible than the written word."

Updated(2): Daniel Radcliffe featured in book Poems That Make Grown Men Cry
The book Poems That Make Grown Men Cry by Anthony and Ben Holden will be released on 10th April in the UK and is already available in the US (since 1st April) and has contributions from Ian McEwan, Stephen Fry, Colin Firth, Kenneth Brannagh but also Daniel Radcliffe. It's a collection of poetry so powerful that 100 great men have been moved to tears.

In partnership with Amnesty International, the collection also is emblematic of the human struggle to make a difference - as all poets rely on the human right to freedom of expression, but throughout history have been amongst the first targeted by repressive governments, because of their power to stir emotions and liberate ideas. It's for a special price available at the Amnesty International UK shop. but also via the publisher Simon & Schuster (UK, US)

Daniel is featured on page 169 to 171 and talks about the poem Long Distance I & II by Tony Harrison.

Q magazine: Groupies, casual sex and "little Daniel" (UK)
Q magazine's interview with Daniel (via danradcliffe.com)

Q: “Did you have to warm up little Dan before going on stage for the first time in Equus?”
A: “Well, this is the thing. Because I’m on stage the whole time, you can’t, as my friend put it, “get some blood into it”. So no, you have to go there and cope with everything going very shy in front of 950 people. After the first two shows you just don’t care anymore, which is a weird thing. Joanna Christie [Equus co-star], who plays Jill, she’s naked as well, so I have something to distract myself with at least, because she is very beautiful. Was there ever any unexpected excitement? No, not at all. A mate asked me,”Did you grow during rehearsals?” I said,” Well, I came on in a certain way but I think the acting will grow more during the process.” He said, “No, I meant did you get an erection?” Oh! Well, no.”

Q: “What are the Harry Potter groupies like? Are there a lot of older women that want to Mother you?”
A:” I wouldn’t say mother [laughs]. Harry Potter groupies……I wouldn’t call them that, really, because they’re really sweet and a lot of them are quite innocent and very young. I don’t really have groupies per se.”
