Daniel didn't know Rob very well, but offered his support to the Foundation and this documentary. As with most members of the production, he spoke kindly of Rob during press junkets and interviews to promote the Half Blood Prince in 2009.

In 2009 Daniel said that his death had affected all the cast:
"I won't pretend I knew him incredibly well, or was his best friend on set, but I knew him and liked him, and what happened to him was obviously tragic and awful."

Back then the cast and crew wore white ribbons on their wrists at the Half-Blood Prince world premiere in Leicester Square in tribute to Rob.
