Daniel and Erin attended the Emmy Awards together. As announced earlier Daniel was nominated for the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie category for his role as Al in WEIRD: The Al Yankovic Story. He (sadly) did not win. The award did go to Steven Yeun for his role in Beef. But there is other good news. "Weird" has won the Outstanding Television Movie and Outstanding Music Composition For A Limited Or Anthology Series, Movie Or Special (Original Dramatic Score) awards.

Union Solidarity Coalition auction
The Union Solidarity Coalition is a collection of writers and directors currently on strike and are raising funds for crew healthcare. An auction has been set up via eBay and one of the items is an official "WEIRD: The Al Yankovic Story" Hawaiian crew shirt signed by Daniel Radcliffe and Weird Al with the DVD and CD. You can find it here at eBay. The current highest bid is $1,650.00. The auction ends on Saturday 23rd September.

WEIRD: The Al Yankovic Story DVD & Blu-ray US release date
WEIRD: The Al Yankovic Story is finally getting a US DVD and Blu-ray (and 4K Ultra HD) release. The biopic was released online via The Roku Channel in November 2022. The release date is 12th December 2023, distributed by Shout! Studios. Bonus features have yet to be announced.

From a conventional upbringing where playing the accordion was a sin, Al rebelled and made his dream of changing the words to world-renowned songs come true. The Roku Channel has launched an Emmy "for your consideration" -FYC- campaign. They hope to get nominations for WEIRD: The Al Yankovic Story plus cast and crew. Below the promotional photo regarding Daniel (also shared on Facebook).

I did announce in December last year that Daniel was nominated for the Best Actor in a Limited Series or Movie Made for Television award at the 2023 Critics Choice Awards for his role as Al in The Roku Channel's WEIRD: The Al Yankovic Story.
The awards show took place yesterday with a live broadcast and there is great news: he won. Congratulations Daniel! WEIRD: The Al Yankovic Story also won the Best Movie Made for Television award. Director Eric Appel and Al Yankovic attended the show.
