It's that time of the year again: Time to look back at 2015 and look forward to 2016. First off I would like to take a moment to do a 'thank you round.' To start with all the visitors (yes you who's reading this ;), without you there would be no need to continue) Then a thank you to DJR Holland's affiliates for the continued support this year plus, last but not least I would like to thank everyone who has submitted news or has been in contact with me in any other way.

The Wrap is reporting that Dane DeHaan isn't attached to Young Americans anymore. British actor George MacKay is set to replace him. The film also has been retitled to College Republicans.

“Unfortunately, I don’t think that movie is really going to work out, at least for me,” DeHaan told TheWrap. “It’s a movie I’ve been really passionate about for a long time, and it looked like it was coming together so many times, but it’s a really difficult movie to find financing for, I think because of the subject matter.”

“I’m sorry to say that that’s no longer on the plate for me,” he added. “I can’t speak to anyone else involved. I don’t see any time in my schedule to be able to make that.”

Interview by Metro US with Daniel and James McAvoy in promotion of Victor Frankenstein.

This is your first time working together but you seem to have a mutual admiration. So what was your relationship like on set?
James McAvoy: When I have to work with people I don’t like, and I think they are really horrible. I generally never argue with them either. We got on really well. There was no arguing.
Daniel Radcliffe: Yeah. I think that the image people have of actors being like constantly at war with each other isn’t generally the case.

What is your relationship with science? What grades did you get at school in physics and chemistry?
McAvoy: I didn’t take physics. But I did take chemistry and biology for a very short time. And in chemistry, I think I got a C, and in biology a B-. And then when I grew old enough to choose subjects I would specialize in, I dropped them both and took English and music. I always enjoyed science at school and I enjoy hearing scientists and talk about science. But I’m definitely glad I don’t have to learn it or do it.

We are all going to die someday. Would you like to be raised from the dead by some genius?
Radcliffe: Yeah, as long as I’m the only one. [Laughs] And he won’t do it to everybody, so that there are lots of dead walking around. I’d like to think about myself as special.

Creating life is like playing God. Do you believe in God? Have you ever wanted to challenge God?
McAvoy: Yeah.
Radcliffe: No.
McAvoy: Even people with great faith and those who have a close relationship to God challenge him, like his son. We all challenge things we believe. Victor is challenging God. “I can do it better” — that’s what he’s saying. There is an idea of god-creator and the idea of faith. We are moving towards it every day, trying to become people. It’s an everyday life. And that is what the Frankenstein story is about.

At the beginning of the film, Daniel’s character doesn’t have a name. Do you know this feeling? Have you ever wanted to start anew?
Radcliffe: As actors we put a mask on and become nobody and anonymous in that way. In real life, you often don’t want to be well known nor famous, and sometimes I remember I didn’t want to be an actor any more.
McAvoy: The nice thing about being an actor is that on every single job, it’s like a clean slate — a new director, new crew, may be even a new country, new language, all that kind of stuff. And you kind of go, “Alright, that last job was a f—ing nightmare.” Maybe I wasn’t who I wanted to be or wasn’t at my best. But what is great about acting is that you are not pretending to be someone else but try to be your better self.

How did the shooting of Victor Frankenstein go?
Daniel Radcliffe We had a good laugh. We work hard during takes and then relax! I really enjoyed the atmosphere on this shoot, it was awesome.
James MoAvoy: Absolutely agree. The atmosphere was cool, but we got serious when we needed to.

There is a new interview online from Collider who spoke to Daniel Radcliffe inbetween set-ups on the set of Victor Frankenstein.

This seems like a different type of role for you. Was that part of the attraction?
I think all actors do that. All the actors I admire – look at James McAvoy’s work – it’s so varied. That’s what I aspire to… I enjoy any type of physical transformation. I enjoy working with the hair and makeup department and I enjoy watching people be very good at their jobs. But this is definitely the most heavily made up I’ve ever been. I’m not sure if it’s a deliberate thing but I think most actors enjoy looking in the mirror and not seeing themselves.

The shooting for Imperium has wrapped and Green-Light International has completed key sales for the film.

They have completed a deal with Universal Pictures Intl. in Benelux, Scandinavia, Latin America, Hungary, Poland, India, Indonesia and Iceland. In addition, the company has sold Germany and Switzerland to Ascot Elite, the UK to Signature, the Middle East to Shootings and Turkey to Filmdom.

The Hollywood reporter has reported that Daniel Radcliffe (together with Anne Hathaway, Keanu Reeves, Chloe Grace Moretz, Tom Holland, Asa Butterfield, Jeff Goldblum and Abraham Attah) will star in the adventure drama The Modern Ocean, based on filmmaker Shane Carruth's 200-page script. The film will be introduced to foreign buyers this week in Santa Monica at the American Film Market. Character details were not revealed.

The storyline revolves around vengeance and the fierce competition for valuable shipping routes and priceless materials that converge in a spectacular battle on the rolling decks of behemoth cargo ships.

"This epic tale, fraught with danger and intrigue, takes us from the ancient trading houses of Algeria to the darkest depths of the ocean floor," said FilmNation in describing the project. 

The producers are promising a movie that will be “enormously inventive, but grounded in arcane reality” and “will draw audiences into a secretive world filled with mysterious technologies and bitter rivalries.”
