For those if you who missed the news via Twitter and Facebook: the UK release date for Kill Your Darlings has been changed from 8th November 2013 to 6th December 2013.

The release date for @KYDFilmUK starring #DanielRadcliffe and @danedehaan has changed! It will now be released in the UK 6th December.

There is no truth to it at all," Radcliffe told the Empire Podcast. "It's one of those very, very funny things: it came out of a story in the Daily Star and then you see newspapers like The Guardian using The Star as their source, and it grows and grows [until] it's 'Dan Radcliffe is playing Freddie Mercury!', which I was never going to do."

After the film's presentation at the Venice Film Festival, where KYD won the Venice Days International Award!, KYD will screen at the Napoli Film Festival on 30th September 2013 and will be released in Italy on 17th October 2013.

Many celebrities have shared their five favourite books for Scholastic UK's literacy campaign Read Every Day, including Daniel. The campaign aims to get children and their parents and guardians to commit to reading every day.

“I think it’s fair to say that if we’re talking about the five books that have most influenced my life, I think it would be pretty churlish of me not to say Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone for giving me everything that I have and everything that I will have.”

"However, The Master and Margarita by Mikhail Bulgakov is my favourite, favourite book in the world ever. To me it’s the greatest exploration of the human imagination, and it’s about forgiveness and life and history, and it’s just the most incredible book that I’ve ever read; I read it once and then I read it almost immediately again.”

Scholastic UK asks that you become a role model by submitting contact details and fill out a questionnaire.

“Books matter. The research so far clearly indicates that children who have books in the home do better in school. Read Every Day is about inspiring children and making reading exciting. We want to help support the fantastic work that teachers do, so we’re asking everyone to get involved and make reading the main event every day. Children read more when they see their parents reading, and getting the whole family involved raises achievement,” stated Catherine Bell who is the managing director of Scholastic UK.
